How long will you need to wait for your new car from Wilsons?

If you’re in the market for a new car, you’ve no doubt heard that you could be waiting some time to get your hands on a new set of wheels. Originally prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent semiconductor shortage, the supply of new cars has faced major delays here in the UK.

As the largest family-run new and used car supermarket in the South of England, we understand your frustration. We’ve been selling cars for over 100 years and are now proud to represent 11 new car brands, so we’re doing everything we can to ensure our customers can purchase the car of their dreams - without the long wait. 

Rest assured that things are slowly getting better. To give you a thorough understanding of how long you may need to wait for a new car, here at Wilsons Epsom, we share updates from our partner manufacturers… 

How long do I have to wait for a new car?

We’re pleased to let you know that vehicle wait times from most of our partner manufacturers here at Wilsons Epsom have greatly improved, so we’re now in a better position to keep up with consumer demand.

Abarth new car delivery wait times

A key player in the small hot hatch market, Abarth factory orders are available for the Abarth 595 and Abarth 695 models. However, customers will be looking at a potential wait time of between 22 to 34 weeks, which takes us into April 2023. 

More than worth the wait, the Abarth 595 is a small car that packs a real punch! Expect sports car performance in a compact hot hatch that is exciting and fun to drive. Get in touch with us at Wilsons Abarth in Surrey to discuss your option for the new Abarth 595.

Alfa Romeo new car delivery wait times

With a reputation for chic Italian cars built with performance in mind, Alfa Romeo is a marque which is expanding its offering of prestigious and sporty cars. Their most popular models - Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale - are available to order now and will be expected with us between 19 to 25 weeks, so customers can expect stock to arrive from March 2023.

Fiat new car delivery wait times

A much-loved brand, Fiat offers a diverse range of cars to suit every kind of customer. Their popularity means that there is a bit of a wait for some models, whereas others are already in stock and available to purchase now…

Recognised the world over, the small but mighty Fiat 500 Electric is a supermini boasting zero emissions. The new Fiat 500e is available to test drive here at our Wilsons Fiat showroom in Surrey. Both the compact and versatile Fiat Panda, and the handsome looking hatchback Fiat Tipo Cross, are also in stock now.  

If you’re after the standard Fiat 500 model which now comes with mild hybrid technology, then the wait time is between 23 to 35 weeks bringing us to April 2023. Its crossover cousin, the Fiat 500X can be ordered now, but customers will be waiting up to 48 weeks to receive their vehicle, which takes us to June 2023 before we can expect delivery. 

Hyundai new car delivery wait times

Hyundai is a brand that has grown in popularity this year, meaning their vehicles are in high demand. As such, vehicle wait times on all new Hyundai cars mean that we won’t receive stock until at least March 2023, depending on the model ordered. 

Built for every kind of family, the Hyundai SANTA FE is an SUV which boasts seven seats and is available from March 2023 for the standard model, or April 2023 for the Plug-In Hybrid edition. 

The Hyundai KONA is proving so popular with customers that the wait times have increased to May and June 2023, depending on the type of model ordered. For those that wish to make the transition to an EV, the Hyundai KONA Electric is a fantastic family-friendly small-sized SUV offering a range of up to 300-miles on a single charge.

Jeep new car delivery wait times

Renowned for producing hard working and stylish vehicles, it’s no wonder that models within the Jeep range are in high demand too. As such, all but the Jeep Wrangler are subject to wait times. A next generation icon, the Jeep Wrangler is poised for any adventure thrown its way - experience the off-road SUV for yourself at our Wilsons Jeep showroom in Surrey.

Both the Jeep Renegade e-Hybrid and Jeep Renegade 4xe Plug-In Hybrid models have a wait time of between 19 to 25 weeks, meaning that the earliest we’ll receive delivery is March 2023. Similarly, the new Jeep Compass e-Hybrid and Jeep Compass 4xe Plug-In Hybrid models are also subject to wait time of between 19 to 25 weeks.

It is the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Plug-In Hybrid which has the longest wait time out of the Jeep range, which currently stands at 38 weeks. The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is a Plug-In Hybrid boasting exceptional performance and now comes with three years scheduled maintenance support too.

MG new car delivery wait times

The MG brand is in much-demand among our customers due to the ever-growing popularity of the brand thanks to its affordable range of practical hatchbacks and crossovers. 

Out of the MG range, it is the brand new MG4 EV standard model that has the shortest wait times at eight weeks from point of order. The all-new MG4 EV has got people talking - for all the right reasons. Signifying a fresh new approach for the company, the MG4 EV is being dubbed as the first really affordable mainstream electric car. 

The very popular MG HS and MG HS Plug-In Hybrid models are next on the priority list for MG. Order your new MG HS or MG HS Plug-In Hybrid model today and expect a three month wait for your new motor. Nissan new car delivery wait times

Nissan has ensured that the UK remains a priority for them in terms of production allocation - this is great news for our Nissan customers. In fact, we are pleased to have the very popular Nissan Qashqai Mild Hybrid model in stock right now, as well as the new Nissan Juke Hybrid model here at our Wilsons Nissan showroom in Surrey. 

If you’re in the market for an electric vehicle and have your eyes on the Nissan LEAF, we will have stock arriving for the 39kWh edition of the 100% electric family-friendly car from November 2022. This includes the mid-range N-Connecta and premium Tekna models.

The much-anticipated all-new Nissan X-Trail will also be making an appearance from November 2022 for those hoping to get their hands on this electrified family crossover. Available in five or seven seat configurations, the all-new Nissan X-Trail really does have room for everyone!

Winning awards left, right and centre, the new Nissan ARIYA is the car everyone is talking about. Due to extremely popular demand, the new ARIYA has the longest wait times out of the Nissan range. Customers ordering the new Nissan ARIYA e-4ORCE 87kWh 2WD model in November 2022 will be waiting until February 2023 for their car to arrive. But don’t let that put you off - it will be well worth the wait!

Renault new car delivery wait times

Known for its range of compact and practical cars, Renault is front of mind for many motorists. As such, there is a bit of a wait for new Renault cars, but the good news is that the wait time has been significantly reduced in recent weeks. 

If you’re in the market for a zero emissions Renault Zoe E-Tech Electric, the all-new Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, or the stylish Renault Kadjar, you’ll be looking at a wait time of four months. Wait times for the popular Renault Captur compact SUV depends on what model you’re after; the Iconic Edition and Limited models are subject to four months wait time, whereas the SE Edition and R.S. Line models have a five month wait.

Other Renault models that have a five month wait time include the all-new sporty Renault Arkana SUV, and the much-loved award-winning Renault Clio which is now available as a hybrid.
