PEUGEOT’s designers have delivered a whole new level of modernity to create a distinctive new 208 and e-208 hatchback car. Some of the brand new features include:

  • A new front end - the PEUGEOT brand’s new logo appears front and centre, surrounded by the grille which features a body-coloured pattern throughout.
  • Brand new PEUGEOT front light signature - a distinctive design of three long vertical light claws which have been integrated into the gloss black inserts placed on the outer edge of the bumper.

New PEUGEOT 208 and PEUGEOT e-208 interior design

Of course, PEUGEOT wanted to make sure the inside of the car made as much of a statement as the outside… As such, the new 208 and e-208 both feature new fabrics across all trims. For top-end standout style, the GT trim boasts Black Alcantara paired with Adamite Green stitching which perfectly matches the dashboard design.

Moving away from the seats to the front dashboard, where the instrument panel has also been redesigned. A generous new 10-inch digital screen has been added and in the GT line version, the graphics are displayed in 3D. GT buyers will also get a choice of 8-colour interior lighting options for an ambient in-car driving experience.

The interior dimensions are as follows:

  • HEADROOM = 886 mm
  • LEGROOM (in the rear) 239 mm
  • ELBOW WIDTH = 1,382 mm for the front seats, 1,350 mm for the rear seats

New PEUGEOT 208 and PEUGEOT e-208 technology and safety

Safety of the driver and passengers is paramount for PEUGEOT, so a comprehensive range of driving aids is available in both the 208 and e-208 models. Some of the technologies included are:

  • Active lane departure warning
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Driver attention alert
  • Extended road sign recognition
  • Lane correction system

New PEUGEOT 208 and PEUGEOT e-208 connectivity

Nowadays, drivers are looking for cars that allow them to communicate when on-the-go. PEUGEOT has installed the i-Connect system as standard on its ALLURE and GT versions, and the i-Connect Advanced package is also available which offers live TomTom navigation and voice recognition services too.

New PEUGEOT e-208 charging

The brand new PEUGEOT e-208 model is fitted with a 115kW electric motor and a 51kWh battery which has an improved driving range of up to 248 miles on a single charge. Each vehicle comes complete with a 7.4kW single-phase charger as standard, but a three-phase 11kW charger is also available if preferred.

When charging at home or work, the e-208 takes around 4 hours and 40 minutes for a full charge using the standard 7.4kW charger. However, it is capable of charging between 20% to 80% in 25 minutes when using a 100kW rapid charger - which is extremely useful when driving for longer periods of time.

But, if you’re not quite ready to fully commit to an electric car, then a hybrid is the best of both worlds. PEUGEOT hits the mark with two new 48V hybrid powertrains which incorporate the latest PureTech technology, running alongside 100bhp and 136bhp petrol engines. This means the new 208 HYBRID 100 and new 208 HYBRID 136 can run in zero-emission electric mode for at least 50% of the time - now that’s a game-charger!
