Our Charity Work

Supporting charitable and community initiatives

Here at Wilsons Epsom, we’re all about giving back where we can by supporting the local community and charitable organisations across Surrey.

As a family-run business and a key employer in Epsom, giving back is what matters which is why we proudly support a number of causes that are close to our hearts. We actively encourage the team here to pledge their support for charities by allowing them the time to undertake challenges and attend events.

At our showrooms we regularly hold fundraisers too in a bid to raise vital funds for those in need. Christmas especially is always a busy time of year for us in terms of fundraising activity and 2022 was no exception! We’ve explained a little bit more about our charity work, below…

Epsom & Ewell Foodbank

We’ve proudly pledged our ongoing support for the vital work carried out by the Epsom & Ewell Foodbank. Helping local people in crisis, it is such an important cause which provides emergency food to families in need. Worryingly, 1 in 5 people living in the UK are now considered to be below the poverty line, making food banks like the one in Epsom and Ewell an absolute lifeline for many local residents.

In December 2022, the Wilsons team collected and donated over £300 to the Epsom & Ewell foodbank, as well as donating to the general food collection and the festive goody bags being handed to families who rely on the food bank at Christmas. Epsom Rotary

We’re proud to be a long-term supporter of Epsom Rotary and always go the extra mile for this important community-led cause at Christmas. In 2022, we raised over £1,200 during two Wilsons charity nights which helped Epsom Rotary to raise a grand total of £6,000 for local charities near to our dealership.

But that’s not all… It wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from the big man himself - Santa Claus! As Father Christmas was busy in the North Pole making presents, he asked us to step in to help with our very own Santa who visited homes in the area to meet with excited children and collect funds for those less fortunate along the way. We even had snow!

The Children’s Trust

A UK-wide charity located close to us in Tadworth, Surrey, The Children’s Trust is dedicated to supporting children with brain injury. It provides rehabilitation, education and community services through highly skilled teams who work directly with children and their families.

We held a Christmas Jumper Day which raised over £200 for The Children’s Trust in Tadworth and in 2023, we’ll be holding other fundraising events to support the charity too.

Truly Giving

Another local cause we’re proud to support is a small community initiative called Truly Giving. Based near to us in Epsom, Surrey, Truly Giving is a not-for-profit organisation working with social services, children's agencies and other charities to provide individualised gifts to children and young people in the local area.

In 2022, Wilsons staff members donated presents and gift cards to benefit children living in Epsom. The year before, we also supported Truly Giving through our 2021 Christmas Appeal to fund gifts for disadvantaged children.
