New into one of the top spots for longest range electric car is the Hyundai Kona. The top model features a powerful 64kWh battery that gives a real-world range of around 259 miles, making it one of the best performers to date. Even the smaller 39kWh version racks up a decent range of 158 miles.

The Renault Zoe’s star continues to shine. For the seventh year in a row, the iconic electric car has been named What Car? Best Small Electric Car of 2020. It’s compact but spacious, quick, stylish and costs next to nothing to run. With a promised range of around 238 miles per charge, it is easy to see why it’s winning accolades.

Next up is the Peugeot e-208, Peugeot's electric city car offering that a silent engine for a serene drive and great acceleration. The range for the e-208 is around 217 miles and there are several charging options including the option to achieve an 80% charge in 30 minutes at a rapid charging station.

Then we have the iconic Hyundai Ioniq. 2019 models onwards promise a range of 194 miles and all come with an impressive list of kit and equipment. Plus a designated home charge point will have the car recharged in four hours.
