Meet the new Abarth 500e range

Get your hands on the ultimate pure electric hot hatch for a driving experience like no other

The new era of electric driving is here. Introducing the new Abarth 500e range which features an all-electric Abarth 500e and Abarth 500e Turismo models. Both are available in hatchback or convertible variants to really elevate your driving experience.

Fans of the sporty supermini have been waiting for a UK release of the two new additions to the ‘Scorpion’ family, with prices starting from just over £34,000. Customer deliveries for the new Abarth 500e and Abarth 500e Turismo models will begin in Summer 2023, although due to exceptionally high levels of demand, the limited edition Scorpionissima launch model is no longer available to order.

Marking a brand new chapter in the manufacturer's history, the 500e is the first-ever all-electric Abarth model - it has already seen huge pre-order demand from hot hatch fans. Not the only first for the brand, Abarth is also proudly debuting its impressive Sound Generator technology too.

Read on to discover everything you need to know about the new Abarth 500e range, which you can preorder from us here at Wilsons Epsom…

The new Abarth 500e

Making a bold statement as Abarth moves into the world of electric motoring, the new Abarth 500e is as unique and eye-catching as it always has been - with a little more power from the pedal too:

Abarth 500e exterior

The Abarth’s sporty style is given an altogether more aggressive look thanks to 17-inch alloy wheels, signature LED lights, a bold front bumper and sharp lines of the side skirts. Expect signature Abarth lettering in Dark Titanium Grey front and rear, while a new electrified version of the Scorpion logo is present on both sides.

Abarth 500e interior

Signature styling is carried through to the car’s interior thanks to the addition of sport seats embossed with scorpion stripes. Abarth has paid attention to the finer details with double stitching effect on all seating and a specially wrapped steering wheel in black vinyl for ultimate handheld comfort.

Abarth 500e performance

Under the bonnet, the new Abarth 500e houses a powerful 113.7kW/155PS e-motor 100% electric engine alongside a 42kWh lithium-ion battery. 235Nm of instant torque boosts the Scorpion’s performance from 0-62mph in as little as 7 seconds.

It is the most responsive and exciting city car to be produced by Abarth, featuring a series of exclusive driving modes to personalise your on-road experience; choose between Turismo, Scorpion Street or Scorpion Track modes to enhance the full sporty set-up.

Abarth 500e technology

Experience Abarth technology at your fingertips with not one, but two driver screens. The first is a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which combines Uconnect radio NAV, where you can access brand new Performance Pages. The second is a high-tech 7-inch TFT cluster display where you can access real-time information about your Abarth.

But that’s not all… Exclusive to the UK market, the new 500e is fitted with a JBL Premium Audio System as standard, and has the Abarth Sound Generator included in every model too.

The new Abarth 500e Turismo

Boasting the highest expressions of pure electric power, the new Abarth 500e Turismo is the epitome of sportiness, style and guess what - it still has that unmistakable Abarth roar too:

Abarth 500e Turismo exterior

The Turismo’s eye-catching exterior is a step-up from the standard 500e model, thanks to exclusive 18-inch diamond-cut Titanium Grey alloy wheels which further enhances the all-over aggressive design style. For an even more bespoke appearance, the Turismo boasts privacy glass, chromed kick plate, plus the addition of a fixed glass roof with the hatchback version.

Abarth 500e Turismo interior

As with the standard 500e model, the Turismo version is fitted with an Alcantara premium interior to enhance the comfort of the sporty-style seats. These are further enhanced by the integrated headrest which features an acid-green Scorpion alongside the classy double stitching effect. The leather steering wheel is complimented by an Alcantara embossed dashboard fascia which seamlessly provides visual continuity between the seats and door panels.

Abarth 500e Turismo performance

The specially-designed electric architecture of the Abarth 500e range means there is improved weight distribution across the chassis. This helps to deliver instant torque and even faster acceleration thanks to the powerful 42kWh battery and e-motor - making it one second faster to accelerate in urban environments than the fuel-powered variant.

On the open road, the all-electric version outperforms the petrol model too by offering great handling, a quicker response, improved corner entry and exit speed. Thrilling best-in-class acceleration makes light work of overtaking manoeuvres, all with absolutely zero emissions.

Abarth 500e Turismo technology

Every journey in the Abarth 500e Turismo is elevated thanks to an array of cutting-edge features and technology, including:

  • 360-degrees parking sensors
  • Rear view camera
  • Blind spot warning
  • Automatic high/low beam
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Keyless entry with Dedicated Wearable key
  • Electrochromic interior mirror
  • Exterior mirrors with defrost
  • One touch-windows

The new Abarth 500e Scorpionissima

With only 1,949 units in production (the seemingly random number actually pays tribute to the Abarth’s birth year) it's little wonder that the Abarth 500e Scorpionissima is currently unavailable to preorder in the UK.

The exclusive fully equipped launch version is available in both hatchback or convertible versions and really does look the part. Striking from the outside in, the Scorpionissima comes in two new colours - Acid Green or Poison Blue - paired with 18-inch Diamond-Cut Titanium Grey alloy wheels.

In the cabin, expect embossed scorpion Alcantara racing-style seats and a dashboard that perfectly compliments the sporty aesthetics of the brightly coloured supermini.

What is the Abarth Sound Generator?

The first and only city car to come with a Sound Generator, the new Abarth 500e is not only turning heads thanks to its standout style, but staying true to its signature sound by providing the unmistakable engine roar too.

Electric power doesn’t have to mean a silent performance. Instead, Abarth’s Sound Generator technology reproduces the sound of a petrol-engine model. But it's inside the cabin where things get even more exciting; every time the car is turned on or off, the AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alert System) has been designed to reproduce a rock guitar chord! We think that’s pretty cool.

What is the battery range of an Abarth 500e?

Expect a battery range of 164-miles on a single charge (WLTP). Depending on your driving style, this average driving range can increase or decrease. For example, urban driving at constant speed can extend the range available, whereas motorway driving for long periods of time may halve the expected range.

Your driving habits really do matter, so Abarth has introduced a number of clever technologies to support consistency. Smooth acceleration and gentle braking will reduce energy consumption and allow for more miles of range. Plus, the one-pedal drive function will maximise the car’s regenerative braking power - these combined can actually provide an extra 15%-20% of battery range.

How long does it take to charge the Abarth 500e?

When charging at home, a standard 7.4kW chargepoint will take around 6 hours for a full charge of 0%-100% battery power.

Thanks to the 85kw fast charging capabilities of the new Abarth 500e range, expect to top up your battery’s charge by up to 80% in just 35 minutes when out and about. There’s also a boost charge facility meaning you can charge the battery for an extra 25-miles of range in just 5 minutes.

When is the new Abarth 500e and Abarth 500e Turismo available in the UK?

Making its public debut at the prestigious Salon Privé event in London at the end of April 2023, the first-ever electric Abarth 500e will start being delivered to customers from June 2023.
