Supporting Blenheim High School
Supporting Advances in Education and Technology
Wilsons is proud to support Blenheim High School with their thriving Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) program. With our support, they built a race car to enter into the Greenpower IET Formula 24 series in 2016/17. The program aimed to advance education in the subjects of sustainable engineering and technology to young people.
Students had been invited to apply for a range of positions on the Race Team, including; engineer, driver and journalist. However, the overall aim of the project was to involve all Blenheim students, as well as the local community and not just the Race Team itself. The students designed and built their race car after school, ready to race in the 2016/17 series which involved two heats - one in Dunsfold and one in Goodwood.
Our sponsorship included financial support of the Race Team and enabled them to purchase the car kit, as well as contributing our time and technical expertise to the project. Tracey Fantham, Headteacher at Blenheim School, said "We are delighted to have worked with Wilsons on such an exciting project."
