A pocket rocket in the truest sense, the Abarth 695 Biposto was born from the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione race car. It is the fastest car in the Abarth range recording 0-62mph in just 5.9 seconds.
To achieve such impressive acceleration figures, the 695 Biposto has sacrificed the rear seats, air conditioning unit and radio system enabling it to be 38kg lighter than the standard Abarth 595.
Without the radio providing any distraction, you can concentrate on the monstrous sound produced by the turbocharged petrol engine boasting 187bhp.
Described as 'madness' by Marco Magnanini, Abarth's brand manager, the 695 Biposto is sure to put a smile on your face whether you are throwing it round the corners of a track or handling winding country roads.
A rally racer for the road, the stripped-out 695 Biposto is the most extreme Abarth of all.
When taking a first look at the 695 Biposto, you might notice that it appears wider than its 595 counterpart. It has received a 10mm increase in track width (5mm either side), both front and rear.
The 'super light' 18" alloy wheels by O.Z. with 215/35 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres provide the highest level of road grip and agility. They also house the 4-piston aluminium brake calipers by Brembo that offer superior stopping power and control.
The 695 Biposto receives an upgraded rear spoiler, carbon fibre door mirror housings and new carbon fibre inserts for the front bumper as well as a pair of industrial-grade chrome tailpipes.
In a world first, the 695 Biposto sports polycarbonate racing windows that have been approved for road use after intensive safety tests. These windows utilise materials from the aerospace industry, combining lightness and strength to reduce the car's weight even further.
One of the first things you will notice when you open the door of the 695 Biposto is the Abarth Corsa racing bucket seats by Sabelt complete with four-point harnesses.
Covered in leather and alcantara with optional carbon shells, you will automatically feel as if the track has come to you when you take a seat behind the wheel.
For those wanting to add extras to their 695 Biposto, it is available with a 'dog ring' gearbox and it is the first road going production car to do so.
The aluminium gear stick with H-pattern gear arrangement is exposed by polished red metal for all to see and admire. The 695 Biposto also sports new titanium pedals with a high-grip titanium finish.
The interior design can be described as minimalist with the rear seats and audio system deemed surplus to requirements. Instead, Abarth have favoured racing essentials such as the Poggipolini rear titanium roll bar and carbon fibre dashboard.
The 695 Biposto oozes racetrack pedigree, thanks to a carbon fibre front apron, growling Akraprovic exhaust system and Brembo brakes. The 1.4 litre T-Jet engine draws on the developments brought to the 595 range including the Garrett turbo and larger intercooler.
As standard, the 695 Biposto has a six-speed manual gearbox which can be upgraded to the optional five-speed dog-ring gearbox. At just 997kg, it has an optimised weight/power ratio of 5.2kg/hp and has the best acceleration in its class.
