The New Nissan X-Trail builds on the strong position forged by the outgoing model with significant improvements in four key areas: it boasts a robust new exterior design, a premium new interior, enhanced practicality and new Nissan Intelligent Mobility Technologies designed to deliver greater levels of comfort, reassurance and trust.
Undoubtedly one of the most popular seven-seater cars on the market, the X-Trail is taking a bolder stance on the road with a redesigned front end and light signature, not to mention being 50mm longer than before.
You can now choose between ten exterior colours including new additions Monarch Orange, Sapphire Blue, Picador Brown and Palatial Ruby, providing greater choice than ever before.
In line with the Nissan Crossover family, the New X-Trail receives the latest V-Motion front grille design with a premium gloss black finish. The grille houses the Nissan badge which has a 3D effect for the first time on the X-Trail.
Further changes can be seen in the headlight design. In another X-Trail first, it now sports the adaptive front lighting system whereby the headlights can turn up to 15° to provide better visibility on an upcoming bend.
The new front bumper has a dynamic and robust design to help give the new X-Trail a bolder look on the road.
The New X-Trail looks and feels like a more premium car with the new tan leather upholstery with black leather inserts. This is complimented by the new knee-pads, synthetic leather pad and gloss black vents.
The steering wheel has also been upgraded to the new D-shape originally seen in the new Micra and Qashqai. It is 3mm thicker than the outgoing steering wheel to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
For the first time in the X-Trail, the second row of seats are now heated* to ensure that passengers in the rear can enjoy winter journeys with more comfort than ever before.
Over the years, Nissan X-Trail has been getting progressively smarter and more helpful. The latest design provides innovation that gives you a hand such as the motion activated tailgate. With your Intelligent Key in your pocket and a simple kicking motion under the rear bumper, you can open the boot of the X-Trail without the use of your hands. Even better still, you can programme the boot to only open to a certain height if you have a low garage to avoid scratching your brand new 'baby'.
The New X-Trail comes kitted out with the new NissanConnect EVO system that has been redesigned to be more user friendly and app-like to help keep you more focused on the road rather than trying to work out which button to push next. Social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter seamlessly integrate with this system so that you don't need to suffer from any sort of separation anxiety.
The New X-Trail has been fitted with a range of safety features that are ready to step in when you need them to help mitigate collisions with other vehicles and also pedestrians.
The radar located behind the 3D Nissan badge is able to recognise adults as well as children to make sure that everyone is safe on the road. Similarly, there are radars positioned at the rear of the car for the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system. Simply put, if you are reversing out of a parking space and a car appears in your blind spot, the X-Trail will provide a visual and audio message to the driver warning them of the car.
The Intelligent Around View Monitor, standard from N-Connecta grade, gives you a virtual 360° bird's eye view of your car. While the X-Trail is the largest Crossover in Nissan's range, parallel parking, tight spots and garage parking becomes stress-free when you can see every angle. If that isn't enough, the New X-Trail also receives Nissan Intelligent Park Assist which will guide you in to any parking space.
Space is King in the New X-Trail where the additional 50mm in length has translated to an extra 15 litres of boot space, providing a total of 565 litres, so that any passengers in the optional third row have more space, or with the seats folded down flat, you have more room for any cargo.
The X-Trail's exclusive cargo system offers a variety of nine different configurations from the adjustable set of shelves and dividers. The boot is able to adapt to the needs of your trip in an instant and it's so easy, you can do it all with one hand. There's even a secret spot with under-floor storage to keep any valuable items out of sight.
Being an X-Trail owner you might be partial to the odd adventure throughout the year, which is why the rear doors swing out to 77°. Not only does this give easy access to rear passengers, but it also means that items such as snowboards can be loaded with ease. In addition, you can lower the boot floor for added height to fit in any tall items.
Go further with a clean conscience in the New X-Trail with exterior aerodynamics and advanced engines designed to offer enhanced fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions without compromising on performance. Choose from a range of seven petrol and diesel powertrains with fuel consumption figures as high as 57.6mpg
