Sustainability

Hyundai have made sure that they have utilised environmentally friendly materials throughout the interior of the IONIQ 5. Examples of this include eco-processed leather and recycled yarn, in addition to raw materials extracted from sugar cane that are used on the headlining, carpet and seat covers. This innovative solution is both highly sustainable and supplies a great level of comfort too. The use of natural materials is the perfect example of how Hyundai are pushing sustainable practices throughout their manufacturing processes, making the IONIQ 5 less reliant on oil-based products.

Performance & Charging

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 CUV comes with a higher performance 800 volt battery as standard. This not only offers great levels of performance but allows the car to be charged at the super fast 350 kW public chargers. With ultra fast charging, the IONIQ 5 can go from 10% to 80% SOC in as little as 18 to 36 minutes, meaning that you can relax and simply enjoy the joys of driving without having to worry. The car comes equipped with a powerful 10.5 kW on-board charger enabling you to charge at home with a wallbox.

In the four-wheel drive version, the IONIQ 5 features two electric motors integrated with the front and rear axles, providing a spirited 305 PS (224 kW). This enables the IONIQ 5 to reach a top speed of 115mph with a 0-62mph time in just 5.2 seconds.

The IONIQ 5 is the first vehicle to be built on Hyundai's new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This electric platform enables for faster charging, increased driving range, enhanced interior space and better handling. The low position of the batteries ensure that there is ideal weight distribution between the front and rear and a low centre of gravity which helps substantially towards handling performance.

Hyundai's E-GMP has been a fundamental aspect in shaping the innovative and spaciously designed interior of the vehicle. The clever designers and engineers have very smartly moved the Air Conditioning system from inside the car to the extra space created by replacing the engine with an electric motor, leaving plenty of room for passengers at the front.
