Wilsons Epsom donate car to Queen Elizabeth Foundation for disabled people (QEF) mobility centre.

Helping young disabled people learn how to drive.

Working in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for Disabled People (QEF), Wilsons Epsom have donated a specially adapted Nissan Qashqai to their Mobility Centre.

This car will be used around the Mobility Centre’s own test track to teach young disabled people how to drive for the first time and older drivers with impairments to make adjustments.

Sarah Vines, Head of Mobility Services for QEF said that they were grateful for the "amazing support from Wilsons". She added that the new vehicle would allow them "to help even more young people with disabilities learn to drive for the first time, as well as helping older people that have acquired impairments make adjustments that mean they can get back on the road".

The car itself comes with a range of additional features provided by Ergomobility free of charge. They include a boot hoist, left foot accelerator pedal, push/pull brake accelerator with an indicator switch and driving controls.

Managing Director for Ergomobility, Ryan Walker, said of this project that he was "proud to be working with Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People and Wilsons to get our customers mobile again". He went on to say that "this car showcases the wide range of adaptations Ergomobility fit to solve the complex challenges faced by our customers".

Sabrina Dennis, Motability Manager for Wilsons Epsom commented that she was "very proud to be leading this initiative, within a company that has been so supportive of the whole project. Working together with Ergomobility, who provided the vehicle adaptations, we have been able to offer our support to the fantastic work that QEF do, in a world where living with a disability presents so many complex challenges".
