Renault: The Name You Can Rely On For a New EV

Reap the rewards of Renault’s electric vehicle range

Renault isn’t being left behind in the bid for an all-EV future, having pledged to produce electrified versions of its iconic range at affordable prices.

A historic mobility brand and pioneer of electric vehicles in Europe, Renault has always developed innovative vehicles. Through the ‘Renaulution’ initiative, the company has embarked on an ambitious transformation towards a more competitive, balanced and electrified range.

Plans are underway to launch no less than 10 new EV models by 2025, as Renault bids for a greener future of travel. Read on to find out more...

Renault Zoe Electric

A frontrunner in the EV revolution, the Renault Zoe is a zero-emissions city car for drivers looking to reduce their carbon footprint. The model was named ‘Best Small Electric Car’ at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2022 for the second year running.

You may not know this, but Renault named its car Zoe for two reasons. Firstly, because the word ‘zoe’ means ‘life’ in the Greek language which the company felt it best highlighted the car’s environmental credentials by making life easier and cleaner. Secondly, Zoe is so-called as a reference to the notion of Zero Emissions - which also contains the word Zoe.

Renault’s Zoe E-Tech range continues to grow ever stronger with its restyled exterior which includes a more dynamic design and new colours too. The E-Tech has rapid 50kW charging capabilities, so the battery charges from 0-80% in just 70 minutes.

Customers can choose from Play, Iconic and GT Line trim levels, each model offering a comprehensive and well-equipped interior as standard. Have complete peace of mind that all new Zoe E-Tech models come with a 5-year/100,000-mile warranty, plus an additional 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty.

Renault Captur E-Tech

Introduced back in June 2021, Renault’s expanding range of electrified models now includes the Captur E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid. Its powertrain has been inspired by Formula One technology, using a 1.6-litre petrol engine combined with a 1.2kWh battery and two electric motors.

Thanks to its commanding presence and strong SUV identity, the Captur was named ‘Best Small Family Car’ for the second year in a row at the 2022 Carbuyer Best Car Awards.

A top choice for family-focused car buyers, the Renault Captur offers countless advantages in a competitive segment. Its electrified E-Tech hybrid version offers one of the biggest powertrain choices in its sector.

Renault Arkana E-Tech

The all-new Arkana is Renault’s first purpose-built hybrid car and is also the first Renault SUV with coupé styling. Making a bold statement with its athletic stance and sloping profile, the Arkana is powered exclusively by electrified powertrains.

It's the first Renault vehicle to be available exclusively with hybrid technology, designed to complement the manufacturer’s wider electrification strategy.

Choose from an advanced E-Tech hybrid and an efficient new TCe 140 mild-hybrid model, both powertrains using smooth and responsive automatic transmissions for a refined and dynamic driving experience.

Renault Clio E-Tech

Another of Renault’s models to win big in the small car categories at the 2022 Carbuyer Best Car Awards, the Clio was named ‘Best Small Car’ for the second successive year.

Now in its fifth-generation, the Renault Clio range offers an electrified E-Tech variant and an interior that includes features usually only found in larger more expensive models.

For a small car, it has a surprisingly large boot and feels much bigger than you might expect. It’s a firm favourite amongst drivers, having become the definition of a success story during its 30-year history. More than 650,000 Clios have been sold in the UK to date and its all-new model looks set to make that figure rise.

The future of Renault electric vehicles

Innovation has been at the heart of Renault since the brand was born over a hundred years ago. Its ambition is to embody modernity and innovation in technology, energy and mobility services within the automotive industry and beyond.

In September 2021, Renault Group outlined its ambitious plans for an ‘ElectriCity’ facility to be built in Douai, Northern France. The new industrial hub is set to become the largest and most competitive production centre in Europe and the first vehicle to be produced at the facility will be the all-new Megane E-Tech Electric.

The Megane E-Tech Electric is Renault’s first compact fully-electric SUV. The next generation Megane will be available with a choice of two batteries and is set to debut in early 2022 - watch this space!

Other models, such as the future Renault 5 Electric city car, will soon join the ElectriCity production line-up, marking a truly exciting time for the future of Renault electric cars. ElectriCity aims to make electric vehicles widely accessible and reach a milestone output of more than 400,000 electric vehicles by 2025.
