The New Vauxhall Adam has crashed the premium supermini market by offering up stiff competition to the Fiat 500, Mini hatchback, Audi A1 and Citroën DS3. Built for customisation, Vauxhall's dynamic city car is a three-door, four-seater that is designed to make urban life that little bit easier.
With bold styling the Vauxhall Adam is available in a thousand different personalities that all incorporate a floating roof, a blade shape in the lower doors and crisp lines. If you're looking for a fun driving experience with endless style on the road and practical low running costs, then look no further than Adam.
Make life easy whether you're driving or not. Take your seat under a panoramic glass roof and immerse yourself in six-speaker surround sound while relaxing in Adam's comfortable seats with special side bolsters.
Personalisation is not just skin deep. With Adam you can choose from a number of fabric or leather seats as well as customise your door mirror caps, front grille bar, rear view mirror covers and a variety of other elements. When it comes to colour, why restrict yourself to one colour when you can have two? There are 18 seat finishes to choose from with more than 20 trim insert colours and a further five options for the rooflining.
The Vauxhall Adam oozes class on the inside with its slick dashboard which features body-colour trim, chrome-ringed dials and a chunky leather steering wheel.
Be comfortable in your own skin by customising your Adam to reflect who you are. Your Vauxhall Adam is an extension of your personality and the 10 different body paints including Orange Alert, Pump up the Blue and Purple Fiction is just one way to showcase it. You can also create a two-tone look with one of Adam's optional roof packs.
The new Vauxhall Adam's bold design is combined with urban attitude. At just under 3.7 metres long it is still longer than the Fiat 500 and with 1.72 metres in width it is wider than the Mini hatchback.
Engine options in the Vauxhall Adam start with a 1.2-litre petrol unit with 69bhp and also includes a 1.4-litre engine delivering either 86bhp or 99bhp. Vauxhall recently introduced a 1.0 litre turbocharged engine producing 113bhp which maximises the Adam's light chassis.
The Adam was created to provide the perfect ride in the city which can be achieved by selecting its 'city mode'. This increases the power-steering assistance and reduces the effort needed to steer at lower speeds to make navigating through traffic that much easier.
To increase fuel savings, especially in city traffic, the new Vauxhall Adam also comes equipped with start/stop technology. With transmission in neutral and the car at a standstill position, the engine will stop and will instantly start again as soon as you re-activate the clutch pedal.
Vauxhall Adam can also be configured with Easytronic transmission which is a five-speed manual gearbox with a fully automatic mode. There is no clutch to bother with and you can let Easytronic do all the work.
The new Vauxhall Adam comes complete with Vauxhall's pioneering technology OnStar which offers a variety of services including 365 days a year emergency assistance and a 4G in-car WiFi hotspot. By upgrading your Adam you can receive Vauxhall's seven-inch all-in-one IntelliLink infotainment system with touch screen functionality. Compatible with Android and Apple smartphones and complete with satellite navigation, it is well equipped to keep you in touch and in control.
For a compact car, the Adam offers an impressive range of options. If you thought things like heated steering wheels and parking assistance were for drivers of executive saloons, think again. Both these can be specified, as can LED-equipped roof lining, which makes the roof look like the starry night sky.
Vauxhall Adam also comes equipped with a number of driver assistance features including hill-start assist which prevents the car from rolling back as you set off on a steep hill or slope. Hill-start assist comes as standard on all Adam models so you will have no more worries about pulling away safely.
The new Vauxhall Adam is available in five trim levels: Jam, Glam, Slam, Energised and S.
