As we finally start to experience some hot weather and summery conditions, it must mean that new car releases are on the horizon.
Indeed, the advent of the 66-plate registration is only six weeks away and there are a host of exciting new releases to consider for your new car, as well as the latest models of the best-selling cars of 2016 so far.
If you are unsure about how the number plate system works, the digits are known as the ‘age identifier’ which are updated every six months as new cars are released in March and September. Cars released in March bare the actual year the vehicle was made and those released in September carry the year the vehicle was made plus 50. So, in March 2016, new cars are marked with a ‘16’ plate, and any car registered between March and August 2016 will carry this signature. A ‘66’ plate car will be a car registered between September 2016 and the end of February 2017.
Let’s begin with the hottest new releases available to order at Wilsons today.
It has been a busy period for all of our French manufacturers as Citroën, Peugeot and Renault all have updated or new models to be released in September. Starting with Citroën and they have energised their C3 model by taking inspiration from the C4 Cactus and implementing its innovative Airbump® technology. The new model will be highly customisable with a total of 36 different colour combinations on offer. The revamped model also includes the world premiere of ConnectedCAM™ technology which is able to film what the driver sees through the car windscreen.
Peugeot are releasing two excited SUV models, the 2008 SUV and 3008 SUV. The New 2008 SUV has a sportier look and is brimming with innovative technology. Both the 2008 SUV and 3008 SUV share striking design cues including and strong vertical front grille adorned with the Peugeot lion and LED rear lights in a 3-claw design. The New 3008 SUV is Peugeot’s most advanced compact SUV that provides all occupants with a distinct sensory experience thanks to the new PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®.
Finally, from our French franchises, Renault has produced an all-new version of the Megane which has undergone a serious makeover inside and out. The Renault range has had a complete design overhaul in recent years with the all-new Clio, Captur and Kadjar; the New Megane is simply the latest model to experience the redesign treatment. It is now longer, wider and lower than its predecessor so that all occupants have more room and are more comfortable as a result.
All of our other manufacturers have also been busy with new models, most notably Fiat who are releasing two new models for the 66-plate release. Although these are new cars, Fiat’s new 124-Spider and Tipo are a throwback to vintage Fiat models. After the success of the re-release of the Fiat 500, the Italian manufacturers have done it again with 21st Century versions of the sporty 124-Spider and award winning Tipo. Petrol heads should definitely show an interest in iconic convertible that promises to make driving unforgettable again. Back in the land of practicality, the new Tipo is a spacious hatch designed with class-leading legroom and a variety of storage compartments so you can drive in comfort with everything you want on board.
66-plate registrations will also be available for all of your favourite models of 2016 as well, including the Nissan Qashqai, Vauxhall Corsa and Dacia Duster. We have a range of fantastic new car offers for you to take advantage of so why not call us on 01372 736 000 or visit our showrooms to order your new 66-plate ready for September.
