Motability is a charity which helps disabled people of all ages to get
around.
The Motability Scheme enables the disabled to enjoy all the benefits of motoring. Motability is a non-profit-making registered charity which provides special financial packages through Motability Finance Limited. These take full advantage of tax concessions to provide affordable transport.
It does this by helping you to use some or all of your Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS) to lease or buy a car.
Wilsons are now offering home visits, to make organising your Motability requirements easier. You are the expert when it comes to your owns needs, but we have experts who can deliver the vehicle to satisfy your requirerments.

Whichever funding scheme matches your needs best, the starting point is your Wilsons dealer. You'll need to show your mobility allowance book or give proof that you're registered as disabled.
To qualify for a vehicle under this scheme you must be receiving either:
• The Higher Rate Component of the Disability Living
Allowance (DLA)
• Or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement
If you're registered disabled but not in receipt of the above, the Wilsons Disabled Motorist Programme can organise a new vehicle for you through financial Services available at our dealerships. They offer extremely generous hire purchase schemes with low interest rates, low deposits and up to 5 year repayment periods.
If you are unable to drive for any reason, you can still benefit from the scheme. You simply nominate an immediate family member, relative or carer as the driver. You can choose up to two named drivers. So a disabled child, for example, could nominate his or her parents to obtain a car under the scheme.
There are three Motability Schemes you can choose from:
• A 3 year Contract Hire lease scheme
• A 4 or 5 year Hire Purchase scheme
• A 2 or 3 year Used Car Hire Purchase scheme
