Vehicle collection checklist

Thank you for choosing Wilsons to purchase your car. To ensure a smooth handover of your vehicle please allow a good hour for collection in addition to making a note of the following.

1) Payment of vehicle

When paying the balance on your vehicle we accept the following forms of payment:

• Debit/ Switch cards for any amount
• Credit card (there is a 2% charge for amounts over £1000)
• Bank transfer - bank details on request.

Unfortunately, we can no longer accept cash payments or cheques.

2) Finance customers

If you're paying for your car by finance you will require the following documents:

• Drivers licence (both the ID card and paper counterpart) or a passport
• Two proofs of address e.g. current Utility Bill, Council tax or bank statements

If you do not have these documents please discuss with your sales representative before coming to collect your vehicle.

3) Part exchange customers

If you have a vehicle that you are part exchanging please bring with you the following:

• V5 document/ Registration document
• Current MOT (if applicable) and any previous MOTs
• Service history
• Any spare keys/ handbooks

4) Customer who need their vehicle taxed

If you want Wilsons to tax your vehicle you will need to ensure that we have your insurance cover note at least two days prior to the collection of your purchase.

5) 7 days free insurance

If you're looking for temporary insurance for a quicker collection we can offer 7 days free insurance. A certificate of insurance will be emailed to your sales representative 48 hours before collection so your vehicle can be taxed. To arrange insurance please contact your sales representative.

6) Spare keys

Used cars are supplied with all available keys. We always try and obtain spare keys from the previous owner, however in some instances there are no spare keys and the car will only come with the one key.
